UK boarding schools
Most UK boarding schools teach a mix of international pupils and local UK pupils. This mix helps to create a good social atmosphere and gives students an excellent grounding in cultural awareness and understanding. As well as providing a good education, boarding schools offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities, including music, sports, drama and clubs and societies for special interests. Many schools have specialist facilities, so parents can choose one that best suits their child’s needs. Students live and work together and in turn learn from each other.
Some independent schools are known as public schools, which can be confusing as some countries, including the USA, use the term to describe schools in the state sector.
